American Icon Debbie Reynolds at the Historic El Portal Theatre in NoHo

Happy Birthday, Debbie!

Happy Birthday, Debbie!

Weddington Street Productions proudly presents “Debbie Reynolds: An Evening of Music and Comedy,” starring the legendary Debbie Reynolds with musical director Joey Singer. The award-winning actress, whose career spans six decades, brings her one-woman show back to the historic El Portal Theatre main stage in North Hollywood for ten performances only: April 29–May 10.
Debbie thrilled audiences and critics alike when she performed to sold-out houses on our stage last year. She had so much fun getting back to her valley roots in this rare Los Angeles appearance that she’s returning for this limited engagement! Debbie’s appearances this year have criss-crossed the United States from Florida to Seattle to Las Vegas, and even had a one-month engagement in June 2009 at the legendary Carlyle Hotel in New York City.

cartoons and serials of the day. One year later, she would be starring in movies at MGM. This is the same Debbie Reynolds who was named “Miss Burbank” in 1948, was a cheerleader for John Burroughs High School and who went on to “Singin’ in the Rain” fame (starring Donald O’Connor and Gene Kelly) to “Tammy,” to the Oscar®- nominated “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” and another 25 films. This is the same Reynolds who, with her showbiz partner Ruta Lee, has raised millions of dollars for “The Thalians” charity for the past 50 years. And, this is the same Debbie Reynolds who, in the late ‘70s, established the Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio right in North Hollywood on Lankershim Blvd., for dance, theater rehearsals and auditions. Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio continues to launch and rehearse many of today’s major musicals, concert tours and TV specials.
She has more awards and accolades than any star in show business, including three Walk of Fame Stars on Hollywood Blvd. (not just one!).
