The COOP—Dreamed Up By Two Moms, Adored By All Kids!

Juliet Boydstun and Lucinda Lent (the founders of the COOP) were friends for over 15 years before they had kids. They hung out in cool places, had interesting conversations, and wore high heels. Then Juliet had a baby. Then Lucinda, and one more for each quickly followed. No more cool coffee houses or leisurely lunches; they traded in their heels for flats (fabulous, of course). But their new “hang outs” were uninspired and dull… windowless play spaces overrun with junkie toys and cutesy murals. Not content to accept this fate, the ladies came up with the concept of the COOP—a  cool, modern play space for kids that doesn’t forget the adults’ desire to be in a place that caters to them as well (cappuccino bar!!!).
The COOP is clean. It is modern. The COOP boasts an almost 3000 square foot OUTDOOR area, so you can enjoy the California sunshine while playing with your kids, or taking advantage of the art, fashion and design magazines and free Wi-Fi! The healthy snacks cater to all tastes, including organic popsicles from theopshoponline.com.
The COOP is a blast for kids – it has a giant custom-made white bounce house, and the biggest ball pit you have probably ever laid eyes on! Kids can climb up to the second-story loft, and shoot down the giant spiral slide straight into the balls. More games include plasma cars, building toys, a chalkboard wall, a wooden play kitchen, and a 10’ x 10’ interactive play floor, which engages and interacts with the people playing/ dancing on it.

The birthday parties at the COOP are as special and unique as the kids they celebrate. For the COOP chicks, the “Pinkalicious” party includes pink mocktails with gummi cherry garnishes, hot pink wigs, feather boas and tiaras for all the girls to wear, and take home! “The Bee(a)tles Bash” features 60’s tunes, foam bug capes, VW Beetle cars and Lennon-style glasses. Guests enjoy their cupcakes at a table with vases of grass and sticky bugs strewn across Twister tablecloths. Other popular themes include “Star Wars, “Mid-Summer’s Night’s Dream” and Yellow Submarine.”
The COOP has catered birthdays with petting zoos, rock walls, fire truck rides, ice cream sundae bars, DJ’s, sword fights and puppetry – just to name a few. Wishing you were a kid having a party at the COOP? No need to be jealous, the COOP also indulges adults with baby showers and cocktail parties.
The COOP truly has something for everyone… go check it out for a play-date or call to book your party there today. You will be begging to be cooped up at the COOP with your kids!
