Looking for a cozy, casual place to unwind on cool nitely jazz with a full bar and fine vintages whilst you feast on delicious cuisine

All with no cover charge or minimum? There’s no catch. It’s as near as Jax for Jazz making friends with live music since 1985 at 339 N. Brand Blvd in Glendale.

The chef presents a daily list of specials in addition to the regular menu. On a recent Friday eve the soup was (naturally) New England Clam Chowder with potatoes, celery, and fresh herbs for $3.50 per cup, $6.50 per bowl. The suggested appetizer was a combo of shrimp and scallops sautéed with mushrooms, onions, asparagus, all baked in “dynamite” sauce. That dish went for $9.95.

Special entrees were a broiled Pork Chop with pear and cranberry sauce, $17.95, five-pepper crusted Prime Rib Eye Steak, $22.95, and butter-poached Sockeye Salmon, $19.95. That’s just the beginning of gourmet selections on a typical evening at Jax where dinner is served ‘til one in the ayem. Portions are generous and the presentation is commanding. The soft lights and intimate aura make this a great date place. Our personable server, himself an entertainer, was informative and efficient. Reservations are suggested by calling (818) 500-1604.
