I was completely entertained last week at the Key Club in West Hollywood as The Company Men, looking sharp in suits and ties, entertained a fully engaged, diverse aged packed house. These modern day gentleman are distinct from other groups with their versatility, intricate four-part harmonies, sharp choreography, and new, modern interpretations of classic and current hits mashed together.
The guys: Daniel Tatar, Shawn Perucca, Stuart Ambrose, and Brian Purcell sang classic songs from the ‘50s to the currents from groups and artists such as the Four Seasons, Four Tops, The Jacksons, The Temptations, U2, Michael Buble, and more. Each of the group members took the lead at points and offered a lot of creative backup as well.
So much fun to experience the merging of many decades and numerous performers into a well weaved collection of crowd-pleasing material!
Latoya London of American Idol fame opened the night with a few strong numbers and did an encore later with The Company Men.
One of the group’s standout numbers among many was The Collection: “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “Stand by Me,” “My Girl,” and “I’ll Be There” (note the diversity in the artists for these huge hits). It was especially impressive when each group member was singing a different tune simultaneously and yet it all worked remarkably well. I also like their energetic rendition of the Four Seasons hit “Beggin’.”
