The non-profit organization Hands for Hope (H4H) hosts its 14th Annual HopeWalk and Kid’s Healthy Activity Fair on June 14th to benefit the children of the San Fernando Valley. The thrust of the organization is to provide outreach to youth aged 8 – 21 through its FREE after school programs in the San Fernando Valley. The Hands for Hope organization also hosts an Academic Summer Camp and a program “Helping Hands” which provides free information and resources to single parents twice a year.
HopeWalk is a community event designed to promote nutrition and healthy activities to children and families while raising the necessary funding to continue to offer all H4H after school programs to the public for free. There are activity stations for kids to win toys and prizes.
Corporate sponsors and support from other non profits is encouraged. This year’s sponsors include Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council, Sparkletts, Daphne’s, Magnolia Grill and more. It’s not too late to register for HopeWalk 2014!
The HopeWalk starts at 9 AM and ends at North Hollywood Park (SW corner of Magnolia & Tujunga) and will travel along Lankershim Blvd. The Kid’s Healthy Activity Fair begins at 11am. There will also be a Taste of Healthy Noho with local vendors providing a taste of their healthy food choices. Again, we urge you to put this event on your calendar!
