My Business Has No Borders

This could be the view from your front yard in Costa Rica!

That’s the message Nancy Weckwerth sends to the potential buyers and sellers who visit her website. Based in Southern California, Nancy says it’s been a long-time goal of hers to become a “Global Realtor®.” Step one was to earn her TRC [Transnational Referral Certificate], which she did in October 2011. “I met some wonderful Realtor® colleagues at the training, hosted by the Arcadia Association of Realtors® and I finally have the tools and the means to move forward and expand my business.” The next step for Nancy was to complete her website at

In January of this year, Nancy took a big next step toward her goal. She flew to Costa Rica and completed the training for the CIPS [Certified International Property Specialist] designation given by the National Association of Realtors®. “What a fabulous experience! I stayed for 10 days and was treated to grand tours of Guanacaste Province by local agents and builders. I left Costa Rica having acquired an entire team of Realtors®, property managers, an immigration attorney, a real estate attorney, CPAs, and most importantly – friends! I built a trusted team of people in Costa Rica to whom I can confidently refer my clients. Most of them hold the TRC.”

Nancy’s current focus is to create a large group of potential investors and retirement property seekers to take back to Costa Rica next January. “They will get the opportunity to stay at properties managed by my friends, experience the beauty of Costa Rica, and view as many of the local building developments as they wish. I want to become the ‘go-to’ person for information in Southern California regarding investment and retirement property purchase in Costa Rica. Each month I send out an email newsletter to all of my contacts that contains information for the upcoming junket tour in January,” Nancy says. “Contact me to get on my newsletter list.”

In addition to her work as a local Realtor®, Nancy volunteers regularly with a local Habitat for Humanity and plans to broaden her work to volunteer internationally with Habitat. “This part is not about my paycheck; it’s about providing a service and giving back to those less fortunate.”

Each year, Habitat for Humanity hosts a Volunteer Recognition Reception to celebrate the work of their volunteers and the accomplishments they have helped Habitat achieve. A portion of the event is set aside to recognize a few of their extraordinary supporters. Due to her outstanding leadership and sacrifice, Nancy will receive the Golden Heart Award on Aug. 26

“I truly believe that gratitude is a large part of the secret to creating success in life,” Nancy says. Visit her website at or at

In addition to working as an International Realtor, Nancy does work with buyers, sellers, and investors from Riverside to Lancaster, Long Beach to the Foothill corridor. No mean task, this large area allows Nancy the opportunity to know, enjoy, and explore our beautiful Southern California cities. “I absolutely love living here. I have lived in many places in the United States and in Canada. As far as I’m concerned L.A. is the best!”

Please feel free to give Nancy a call. She’ll cheerfully and professionally assist you with your local real estate needs or with your goal to retire in the beauty of Costa Rica. Her contact information is on the websites or in the advertising in The Tolucan Times.
