The 29th Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts, presented by the Hollywood Arts Council, is a free, one-day only festival which will take place on Sunday, August 10th, from noon until 4:30pm at Paramount Pictures Studio. It is a celebration of the arts and cultures of Hollywood. “This wonderful non-commercial event has become a family tradition,” according to HAC executive director Shauna McClure. “People whose parents brought them to the festival in the past are now bringing their own kids.”
Festivities will include performances featuring a variety of music, dance, and entertainment, as well as nine different art workshops led by professional artists that will allow children to create their own art pieces as souvenirs. Casey McCabe, on-air talent for AMP Radio 97.1 FM, will serve as the event emcee. The event will include the appearances of child film and television celebrities, face painters and strolling costumed characters, including Bugs Bunny from Six Flags Magic Mountain and The Amazing Dave (Magician Dave Devito).
The Festival is partially funded by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, along with generosity of other sponsors including: Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, BookPALS through the Screen Actor’s Guild Foundation, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Zimmer Children’s Museum, Hollywood Hotel, Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council, AMP Radio 97.1 FM, Hollywood Studio District Neighborhood Council, East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, Barnsdall Arts, Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, representing Los Angeles City Council District 13 and Councilmember Tom LaBonge, representing Los Angeles City Council District 4.
