The Bistro and Bistro Garden restaurants were originally located on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills and became the dining domain of celebrities, presidents and L.A.’s dining elite. The Bistro history lives on at The Bistro Garden in Studio City, where Gregory and his wife Carolyn Niklas Pappas follow in their families’ traditions. Today, daughter Christina, 24, is being groomed to follow in her parents’ footsteps and will be the fourth generation of Pappas/Niklas families operating in Los Angeles.
Described by Zagat as a “classic with a beautiful garden like setting,” The Bistro Garden is modeled after a European Wintergarden with 30 foot ceilings, glass lattice work, and expansive skylights. Live piano music is a constant, providing soft music that seems to enchant everyone who hears it. The Bistro Garden is a top wedding and private event location and has been used for numerous television and movie shoots. There are weekly specials including Happy Hour in the bar, Monday—Friday 4—6:30 p.m., and there’s Sunday Brunch with a complimentary Mimosa. The infamous Chocolate Soufflés are available for take out and Picnic Baskets are available all year around.
The Bistro Garden is open for Lunch at 11 a.m.—3 p.m. Monday—Friday. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m.—10:30 p.m. Sunday—Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bar menu is available from opening to closing. Sunday Brunch is served from 11 a.m.—2 p.m.
