The Buckley School is a unique K-12 independent school. We are small by design with 770 students across 13 grades, which creates a warm and meaningful learning experience. Our curriculum is guided by a time-proven core philosophy, yet is highly adaptable to new and effective learning methodologies. We incorporate a developmental approach to our Lower School learning, and a college preparatory program for our Upper Divisions. Across all grades, we blend academic rigor with creativity, and emphasize critical thinking, strong values, multiculturalism and a global perspective.
Decades ago, we pioneered a new educational approach called the 4-Fold Plan of Education, which marries a whole-child philosophy with elements of structure. Academic training, artistic expression, physical development and moral education are the equal pillars of the 4-Fold Plan. The Plan sets high standards for all students. It includes traditional touches that develop character and discipline to help unlock our students’ potential. Our diligence to this framework develops well-rounded young people with special talents, self-confidence, creativity and high integrity.

Buckley is located on 18 verdant acres in a quiet, canyon in Sherman Oaks, California. We invite you to visit our school and meet our exceptional teachers and students. More information is available at  or by calling (818) 461-6709.
