A few months ago Isabelle Merey rolled into Hollywood with a promise and hopes to become the next TV personality and host a cable network show. Having her Hollywood connection, it is only time that holds this budding young talented and beautiful “Izzie” from blazing onto your living room screen.
“Izzie” purchased her daily driver in So Cal. A 1973 Red Hot 454 Corvette “T” Top Stingray, it turns heads wherever she goes and not only because of the roar and visual of this “Smokin’ Vette.” Izzie turned heads from the moment she set foot onto the mainland from her home village on the island of Cyprus.
Always having an affection for the “Bad Boy” Classics, from when her dad taught her to drive a stick shift, the love affair between this beauty and cars began to emote. She landed her first opportunity to strut her stuff across the TV Screen with “Operation Drive By” (a syndicated Cable TV Show). Having a jump start on the premiere, this looker already has episodes tucked away with promises to air in the near future. You can have a glimpse of her by doing a Google search of OPERATION DRIVE BY and “click” on her name, Isabelle Merey/YouTube, to catch her promo. Once watching this epic teaser through the processer of your computer, it is not possible to walk away without hitting replay at least one more time. You can feel the connection of “Beauty and the Beast” as the thrill dances in the eyes of Isabelle when she hits the ignition of a vintage Mustang, and those long legs “pop” the clutch, springing this machine into action.
Izzie will greet our Veterans at the Pierce Brothers “Valhalla” Memorial Day Ceremony to serve as Grand Marshall of the Parade and Car/Motorcycle Show on May 26, held at 10621 Victory Blvd. in North Hollywood.
The Parade of Classics and Dignitaries (some of which are Burbank Mayor Dr. David Gordon and Vice-Mayor Bob Frutos) riding in a FOOSE Designed ’56 Chevy Convertible, stepping off just before 10 a.m., links the Rose garden “Portal of the Folded Wings” to the Veterans Memorial, just a short 3/10th of a mile apart. Maybe the shortest parade on this coveted day, but a meaningful line-up of adventure to follow in a beautiful ceremony, “Dove Release,” “Rifle Salute,” “Dapper Day Parade,” and a FREE Public Lunch being served by the Pierce Brothers Memorial staff from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Come take your bite out of this day, with “Izzie” and a friend!
Balloons for the kids, Live (all ladies) Brass Band, Flag Ceremonies, and in the aftermath, the opportunity to “Hand Crank” Petina, the Valley’s most famous 1915 Model “T” ever to survive the streets of L.A., with costumed owner Gary. Isabelle will be on hand for photos and personal autographs throughout the event.
The whole family is invited to attend this FREE Community Ceremony and if you have a vintage vehicle, you can join the Car/Motorcycle Show. NO FEE to Register and compete for one of the many trophies offered. Pierce Brothers “Valhalla” Memorial Park and Mortuary will donate $25 to our Veterans at Burbank American Legion Post 150 when you attend with your Tin Lizzie or Classic. This car (and Motorcycle) show is open to everybody who has a car to brag about including but not limited to the new Retro Class. Call “Valhalla” at (818) 763-9121 and ask for Ralph, or come to Pierce Brothers. We can email you the application. Send your request to: JimEtter@SBCglobal.net by May 21.
