Toluca Lake Elementary School Beautification Day
Students, families, staff, and community members will work together to replant our garden, spruce up the playground, and give some of the toys and classrooms a much needed cleaning. Lunch for volunteers will be provided by the PTA, and is being donated by Togo’s Sandwiches on Pass Avenue. Councilman Tom LaBonge’s office is also sponsoring a portion of the event, providing funding for our grounds staff that day and hopefully stopping by to say hello and receive our thanks. The Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council is also providing plants and equipment for us to use to beautify our school. This is a true community event!

Mayors Cup Charity Golf Tournament
The Burbank Sunrise Kiwanis Foundation will sponsor and host the 15th Annual Mayors Cup Charity Golf Tournament at DeBell Golf Course in Burbank. The event has raised more than a quarter million dollars over the past 14 years, which has been put to work throughout the greater East Valley & Burbank/Glendale/Los Angeles communities in support of early childhood and youth programs. Add to that the volunteer work of the members of the Burbank Sunrise Kiwanis Service Club, and these youth programs have received nearly a half million dollars in benefits.
The Mayors Cup has many levels of participation and sponsorships available. Citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate by going to www.burbanksunrisekiwanis.org to download a pdf of the donation brochure. Tee signs and gift certificates are extremely popular since they provide so much promotional benefit for donors during the course of the tournament.

L.A. River Red Day Volunteer Event
Sponsored by Keller Williams Studio City office, years ago the all-volunteer Village Gardeners made a huge commitment to maintain their 1/2 mile LA River greenway in Studio City and Sherman Oaks. What they do on an ongoing basis is:
- Mitigate litter and graffiti
- Remove invasive, non-native plant species
- Mulch to restore the soil and save water
- Replant with native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers
- Clear the catch basins to prevent the streets near the river from flooding
- Provide trash containers with weekly pickup service
All of their efforts clearly have a positive impact on the environment and their property values, making their community more desirable.
For any further questions please feel free to contact Nicole Costas at (323) 630-6976.
