BURBANK

Open House Goodies

Pauline’s Handmade Brittle’s seventh-year anniversary Open House was a great success two weekends ago. A tasty time was had by all. Thanks to the “Hollytones” for their beautiful voices and making our event a memorable Christmas experience.

We also took this opportunity to introduce two new items. Our new “Mama Jean’s Old Fashioned Fudge” was very well received, along with the Smoked Salmon Cheese Ball (available by order). We also have all our traditional gift items, such as our best-seller “Classic Pecan Brittle,” along with some new favorites such as Pumpkin Chocolate Pecan Brittle, Espresso Bean Brittle, and our Holiday White & Dark Chocolate Peppermint Pecan Brittle.

For more information on Pauline’s Handmade Brittle, call (818) 955-7700.

In?fleur?essence: Rob Outwater & Gabrielle McKenna

Rob Outwater, Photography: A rose may be a rose, but no two are seen alike in this new exhibition. As captured by photographer Rob Outwater, flowers radiate beauty in this stunning display of 3D Digital Lenticular prints and traditional ink-jet prints. Visceral and surprising, the Lenticular process created in the 1940s provides an illusion of movement in static images. Viewed from different angles, the 3D images appear and change depending on the viewer’s position.

Gabrielle McKenna, Paintings: Looming larger and more intimate than in real life, the floral paintings of Gabrielle McKenna push the classical boundaries of “still life.” Vivid, deeply colored and felt, these paintings reflect Gabrielle’s “outward expression of her interior experience.” A fine artist since high school, her work has been displayed in galleries from Soho to Santa Fe to West Hollywood.

STUDIO CITY

Pirate Santa Book Launch

When Studio City’s own “gentle giant” Clay Clement returned to the spotlight as an author of the children’s book Pirate Santa, he had no idea that his labor of love would be so well received in such short a time. Clement alias Talderoy and his co-author Cap’n Slappy (co-creator of Talk like a Pirate Day) alias Mark Summers are officially premiering the now celebrated children’s pirate picture book, Pirate Santa. Clement, owner of the award winning Studio City Tattoo, Los Angeles’ favorite destination for skin art, is already known for celebrity clients. In keeping with the family-oriented festivities for the holidays, Clement has decided to give back to the community that has applauded his business and his book by supporting the Turning Pages Foundation.

Studio City Farmer’s Market
