Wango Tango Break-Out Star Series Rocks the Universal CityWalk Stage
Free CityWalk Series Now through April 18
(Universal City, CA) — Wango Tango rocks onto Universal CityWalk as So. Cal. bands compete in a free weekly Rock’n’Roll showcase for a chance to win $10,000 and an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform live on stage in the May 9 KIIS-FM-hosted Wango Tango summer concert performance.
CityWalk’s 2009 Wango Tango Break-Out Star Series will take place Saturday nights from 7-9 p.m. now through April 18. Five local bands will take to the stage during each performance in this free concert at Universal CityWalk as they vie for the ultimate prize.
On Saturday, March 28, Universal CityWalk Wango Tango Break-Out Star Series bands included: One Year Yesterday from Upland performing “Be There For You,” Tha Fam from Glendale performing “Skyy Lady,” Eddie Gomez from Los Angeles performing “Drowning,” KO the Legend from Burbank performing “She Wants 2 Get It” and ThE WallBuRdS from Long Beach performing “Hour Glass.”

The Wango Tango Break-Out Series finalist will be announced on Friday, May 1 on the Universal CityWalk Web site. The winning band will perform at KIIS’s Wango Tango day-long concert on Saturday, May 9 alongside such rockers as American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida and Jamie Foxx.
