Marymount High School
Marymount High School provides girls in grades 9-12 with a stellar all-girls education. An independent Catholic school founded in 1923 and located on Sunset Boulevard across from UCLA, the Marymount community embraces its roots while implementing innovative programs. Every student is empowered to find her passion and her voice in order to become a confident leader who strives to be a force for good in the world.
Students travel to Marymount from the San Fernando Valleyon a transportation system that is included in the tuition. Nine bus routes, reaching from the Valley to the South Bay and Hancock Park to the Pacific Ocean, allow a diverse group of girls access to a Marymount education. The diverse qualities and skills of these students coupled with the passion of the talented faculty and staff create a community teeming with enthusiasm, brilliance, and compassion.
In addition to emphasizing critical thinking, writing, and STEM initiatives, Marymount also provides a leadership program that empowers girls to act as thoughtful, effective advocates for themselves and others. “A Better Self for a Better World” is a conference implemented by Marymount students to inspire empowerment, leadership, and philanthropy in middle school girls. Marymount offers a premier speaker series, “Inspiring Boldness: Girls Leading,” where accomplished women leaders in business and the arts share their stories, and a summer internship program that places students alongside leading professionals at local universities and hospitals.
Marymount continues to innovate and thrive yet always remains true to the school’s mission, “That all may have life and have it to the full.” With opportunities available at every turn, Marymount students truly “have it to the full.”
