Scottish Festival Comes to Ventura Fairgrounds Next Weekend
The Seaside Highland Games — the Premier Scottish Festival on the West Coast — will be returning to the Fairgrounds in Ventura in just a few short days. The weekend of October 12 & 13 will see the entire premises transformed into a wee slice of Scotland (with a nod to ALL the Celtic Lands).
You will feel transported to another time and place by so many activities involving entertainment, athletic prowess, and delicate dance — competitions for some, demonstrations for others.
Four entertainment stages will keep your toes a-tapping as long as you like. Top professional entertainers such as Eric Rigler — the most recorded bagpiper in history — as well as quality amateurs just entering the field will all be performing for your enjoyment.
A family fun weekend, the magical Children’s Glen will find all sorts of activities for the wee ones from block building to cultural themes to throwing heavy (not TOO heavy) objects — just like the big folks do!
More things to do for Mom and Dad and the older siblings might be shopping among the wide array of unique Celtic vendors to classes in Gaelic speaking, genealogy, plus great Single Malt Scotch appreciation.
Opening Ceremonies and the Grand Parade at noon sharp on Saturday is a spectacle not to be missed. A dozen bagpipe and drum bands and over 80 Clan contingencies will march before you with flags and banners a-flying!
Come to Ventura October 12 & 13 and see for yourself. Check the website seaside-games.com for more information.
See you on the field!
