Hollywood’s “It” girl, Sofia Vergara took time out of her mega-busy schedule to hopfoot it to the Valley Performing Arts Center for the launch of Joffrey West, an evening of ballet.

Having just been named the highest paid women in television, the Forbes Magazine covergal showed her appreciation for the arts and students of the prestigious dance-training intensive summer West Coast program. We saw everything from ballet and jazz to hip hop.

Sofiajust celebrated her 40th birthday, her engagement to long-time beau Nick Loeb, and a huge financial win from the team of Modern Family that just began shooting its new season after a rocky negotiation and delay of first production.

The cultural evening started with an elegant cocktail party on the third floor of the arts center with guests serenaded by violins and views of the vast campus. Dance–inspired paintings by internationally esteemed artist Dominga Zapata were displayed.Champagneflowed amongst the patron of the arts. It felt like a West Coast version of Carnegie Hall meetsLincolnCenter. Never have guests on a college campus been dressed to the nines like they were that evening.

Adorned in a black lace David Meister dress and a pair of black Loubes, Sofiais in the midst of planning her wedding. Also in attendance to support Joffrey and Zapata were Marlon Young (MTV series The Hard Times of RJ Berger), choreographer Anna Marie Holmes, and actress/socialite Anna Arden.

Zapata’s work sold at a silent auction to benefit deserving dancers who will attend the JoffreyBalletSchool’s year-round pre-professional Trainee Program. Joffrey West’s faculty includes Emmy Award-winner Mia Michaels, choreographer and judge from So You Think You Can Dance.
