This Monday Night! – Angie Dickinson, Julie Newmar to Be Feted in Studio City Dec. 16

Hollywood icons Angie Dickinson and Julie Newmar will receive Lifetime Awards from the Southern California Motion Picture Council at the organization’s 78th Annual “Holiday Ball” at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. The event is Monday night, Dec. 16, and the public is invited. Tickets include a gourmet dinner buffet and stage show.
Dickinson is best known for films such as Rio Bravo and Dressed to Kill and her popular role as “Pepper” Anderson on TV’s Police Woman. Newmar has numerous stage, screen, and television credits, including her famous portrayal of Catwoman in the 1960’s Batman television series.
Actor Randal Malone, president of the Council, will again serve as Master Of Ceremonies and some 200 guests are expected to attend. Past attendees have included such luminaries as Lauren Bacall, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Spencer Tracy, and John Wayne.
The Southern California Motion Picture Council was founded in 1936 to promote high moral standards in entertainment. They present Golden Halo awards for the best in movies, television, stage plays, and the performing arts. Past winners have included Tippi Hedren, Carol Channing, and Mickey Rooney.
