You may not have known it, but there has been a performing arts organization producing quality musical theatre productions in the foothills of the East San Fernando Valley for more than 20 years. Foothill Performing Arts Council (FPAC) with Artistic Director Tim Borquez, set an idea in motion with the goal of maintaining and building on the artistic legacy of the arts within the East Valley by engaging families, schools and businesses through artistic events and mentorship opportunities.
On the heels of its recent Valley Theatre Award-winning 20th season, FPAC will present its first musical production in the NoHo Theatre District with the NoHo premiere of the musical The Theory of Relativity by Drama Desk Award nominees Neil Bartram and Brian Hill. It will run for five weekends at the Gray Studios Theater in North Hollywood Friday, September 21 through Sunday, October 21.
Borquez gushes, “We are truly excited to premiere this captivating musical in the vibrant NoHo Theatre District. Shanelle Gray at Gray Studios has been awesome to work with, as we get set to premiere our first NoHo production in their newly upgraded theater space.” He adds, “The Theory of Relativity is a song-cycle, presented by a talented 13-member ensemble, bringing stories and themes of our millennial-aged generation forward.”
Critics say, “Whether you’re allergic to cats, in love for the first or 10th time, a child of divorce, a germaphobe or simply a unique individual, audience members and actors alike are sure to find themselves in this fresh new musical.”
