Jan Daley, who entertained the troops around the world with Bob Hope, pays special tribute to Hope with the release of her new CD Where There’s Hope and a special show at Vitello’s. The album brings us the love songs from Mr. Hope’s film and Broadway legacy, such as It’s De-Lovely, You Do Something to Me, Can’t Get Started, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, and many more.
Jan tells us, “After I sang Thanks for the Memory at Mr. Hope’s memorial I ran into Les Brown Jr. and told him about my project. As it turned out we ended up in Branson doing separate shows and Les produced it with the band. In my research I never dreamed there would be such a wealth of wonderful songs. But of course, it was a time when all the great songwriters like Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, among others, were writing for films.
This show brings funny yet poignant stories about her travels with the famed entertainer that blends personal experience with showbiz history. These show-stopping songs are brought to life by her liquid, velvet voice. Said Variety, “Her range is her most important attribute,” and Billboard said, “Her voice matches her looks… in every sense of the word, a knock out!”
