The rib-tickling Tracy Esposito wants to make people laugh, and she’s good at it, receiving raves from Comedy Central, NBC’s Comedy Showcase and named among the Top Ten comics in NYC. She also wants to touch our hearts, and so she created the one-woman show Chicken Parmigiana. There’s a must-see special performance on Sunday, March 27, for the 3:30 show at the Sidewalk Studio Theatre.
A native of Staten Island, Esposito says she’s driven to make people laugh.
“There’s nothing more exciting than getting that laugh when you’re onstage. It’s like love — it feels so good. Exhilarating,” she describes.
The first part of Chicken Parmigiana is “a stand-up routine of current events and my life. Then I take my audience back with a story that happened to my family. At that point it becomes a one-woman play. I tell a story and play the characters,” she explains.
The story is against a comedy-infused Italian-American backdrop. Esposito says, “One crazy character is off-the-hook, and provides the belly laughs as we go on a ‘miracle’ journey.”
So why should people come and see this show?
“Because everyone can relate to something in it. You will laugh, and it will touch your heart, plus you will leave with a powerful memory.”
Chicken Parmigiana plays March 27 at 3:30 p.m. — with seating at 3 p.m. — at the Sidewalk Studio Theatre located at 4150 Riverside Dr. in Burbank (next to Pricilla’s Café). Tickets are $12; call (818) 623-7022 for information. To find out more go to www.tracyesposito.com.
