Betty White Takes Ill, Misses TV Special Taping
By Jon Konjoyan
Nonagenarian actress Betty White disappointed a crowd of 200 guests for the taping of “Betty White’s Second Annual 90th Birthday” TV special last week at CBS in Hollywood. Illness forced the Hot in Cleveland and Off Their Rockers star to remain at home but the show went on without her.
White, who is expected to recover before the special’s Feb. 5 airdate, will now introduce the show, which celebrated the famous floozie’s 91st birthday.
Guest stars include Blake Shelton, Lily Tomlin, Sean Hayes, Valerie Bertinelli, Vicki Lawrence, and Larry King plus a humorous taped greeting from former President Bill Clinton.
Comedy clips from White’s extensive career were a highlight of the event, including a hilarious blooper reel from Hot in Cleveland.
