Young Singer from John Burroughs High School to Perform at Civil Service Employee Recognition Lunch!
By Jim Etter
Darby Walker is no novice to performing at events around Burbank or the San Fernando Valley. She last performed at the Memorial Day “Flag Laying” Ceremony at Pierce Brothers Valhalla in May.
Darby, who is a Freshman at John Burroughs High School, willingly volunteers her talents at many civic events.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, a ceremony will be hosted by Pierce Brothers Valhalla at 1 p.m. to honor Civil Service Employees with a Free Lunch to everyone who attends. The Community Event will also include a mini car show of local special interest vehicles, and information to help you be more prepared for a disaster. The BBQ Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. courtesy of Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park.
A selected Civil Service Employee will be recognized for their “Over the Top” service, by placing their life in harm’s way while performing their duties by Jim Etter, the event coordinator.
A recognition plaque will be presented to Burbank Civil Service Employees by Chairman and General Manager of Valhalla, Javier Fernandez, calling out community appreciation for all Civil Service Employees everywhere.
Come listen to Darby Walker perform popular songs and have a Free Lunch. Pick up some information on personal preparedness, look at some select classic cars, thank our Civil Service Employees, and enjoy a great BBQ Lunch.
